Dr. Nick Loughren is a proud native of Southwest Florida. He graduated from Bishop Verot High School in 1999 where he excelled athletically as a baseball player. After being drafted by the Colorado Rockies, Dr. Nick pursued a professional career as a pitcher, only to fall short following multiple injuries. His experiences ignited an interest in sports medicine which eventually led to a passion for chiropractic medicine. Dr. Nick believes if he had been introduced to chiropractic care sooner, he may have been able to avoid the injuries that ended his career.
Dr. Nick went on to serve 10 years in the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, where he had a successful tenure in various leadership roles including 6 years on the emergency response team and 5 years as a sergeant. Dr. Nick, though, maintained a passion for sports medicine and decided to return to school.
Dr. Nick decided to complete his undergraduate studies at Florida Southwestern and then Hodges University where he was awarded Student of the Year and graduated Cum Laude with a dual major B.S. in Biomedical Science and B.S. Interdisciplinary Studies. This paved the way to acceptance at Palmer College of Chiropractic where he was selected to serve as a Student Ambassador and awarded with the Most Outstanding Future Alumni award by the Palmer Student Alumni Foundation. Dr. Nick graduated from Palmer- Florida in 2021.
Dr. Nick has maintained his involvement in the community through baseball for over 30 years. He has coached at all levels, ages 6-18, including a 2-year stint as the skipper at Desoto High School as well as various successful travel ball organizations. Dr. Nick prides himself on “leading by example” and enjoys mentoring young athletes. Dr. Nick is a goal-oriented and results-driven personality, a trait he expects his patients to thrive on while under his care.
Dr. Nick enjoys the hands-on application of Diversified Technique, but also offers Thompson Drop technique, Cox Flexion/Distraction, Arthro-Stim, and Activator techniques as well as various modalities including IASTM, Rock Tape (FTM Certified), ultrasound, electrotherapy, and proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation (PNF).
Dr. Nick is motivated by his support system; his wife Suzi and three children Brady, Colsen, and Taryn. Dr. Nick enjoys an active lifestyle, fishing, golfing, and anything baseball. Dr. Nick is proud to serve the SWFL community.
